She's a petite little thing with a small frame and height, barely making it above five feet. Her hair is a honey blond color mixed with dark golden locks and layered in a natural wave, often pulled into two low pigtails she wears at the base of her scalp. Sandy has peachy colored skin and a sweet face with a button nose and a doll like appearance. She dresses modestly and never wears clothing that exposes her shoulders, stomach, or too much leg. She's called prissy becomes of this or even prudish, but she doesn't seem to care. Sandy is pretty in her own right, and was a favorite among vampires prior to her change. She hunches her shoulders much more often and doesn't look people in the face when she speaks to them.

Sandy is a very quiet girl who tends to keep to herself and avoids making herself known if at all possible. She was turned into a vampire the year before and spent the summer learning to adjust to life as a vampire. She was one rather outgoing and vivacious, now she's timid and shy, her friends number few and she tries to avoid most of the other vampires in the school. Sandy's the girl that will bend over backwards to help a friend, but is paranoid enough that to become a friend of such calibur, it takes a great deal of time. Sandy distrusts most of the kids she attends school with and purposely outcasts herself from them, she doesn't associate with most Night Worlders at all, especially the vampires. Sandy grew up in a very traditional home and has very conservative views on things, which is why she didn't mind joining TAPS. She struggles to be a vampire and will often catch herself staring at the necks of humans, shifters or witches as they pass. She spends a good deal of time burying herself in books in the library and avoiding most social gatherings.

Sandy is bright when it comes to academics and works hard in her studies. She was an average student before but since her return for her junior year she has thrown herself into her studies more than before. She's a teacher favorite and often stays behind to ask further questions on the topics discussed in class. Being a vamprie she has enhanced senses and better healing capabilities if she feeds regularly. With her friends, Sandy is loyal and honest, even a little bit of her outgoing former self at times. Her few friends are her life and she is somewhat dependet on them for connection and keeping the feeling that she is still alive and somewhat human, and not a monster. Sandy is also a seamstress and sews all of her own clothing since she finds most of the clothing stores in Winthrop don't have items that fit her sense of style. Kids often seek her out to make adjustments to clothing or fix holes.

She's a made vampire and rather new too, so she's still pretty sensitive to light. When she's outside she always has a pair of sunglasses on and can't seem to do anything without them. Sandy struggles with what she is and even with the program Ashwood put her through over the summer, she still finds herself staring intensely at the necks of her classmates and being hypnotized by the sound of blood pumping through their veins. She also is a volunteer outcast and though she has friends, they are few. She doesn't trust the other vampires on campus, especially the Lamia, blaming them silently for her change and not wishing to get tangled with them again, fearing she may end up dead. A lot of Lamia also view her as a 'stain' on vampirekind since she is a made vampire and shouldn't even still be alive.

Sandy was born in Kansas and lived there till she was eleven. Her parents were on a business trip to New York and Sandy was staying with a friend over the weekend. Her parents were driving home when an eighteen wheeler lost control and crashed into their car, killing them instantly. Sandy took the news hard and her grandparents flew in from Winthrop for the funeral. They were given custody of Sandy and she moved to Winthrop to attend middle school there and then eventually go to Ashwood Academy. Her grandparents were very traditional and conservative about things and so it reflected a bit in her behavior. Naive, perhaps a little to naive, and innocent. She recovered easily from her parents' death (or seemed to) by becoming active in school activities and making friends with a lot of the kids, even some of the popular ones. What she didn't know was that a lot of them were vampires and used her to drink blood from.

It was after someone took too much blood that a problem presented itself. She was weak and might possibly die, so a vampire friend exchanged blood with her three times, changing her. This happened just after the last day of school her sophmore year. Her friend told the school what happened and they took her in to be 'detoxed' or basically put into a program where she'd learn to adjust to her life as a vampire, which she now was. Sandy returned for her junior year changed, no longer the bright and spirited girl everyone knew, but quiet, shy, and keeping to herself. Her friends dwindled to a small handful.

Back at the school, Sandy was befriended by Ryan Danvers, a shifter, and the two began a friendship of sorts that could be something more. Eventually it was revealed that they were soulmates, the news exciting Sandy, but Ryan's own traumatic past was something he had yet to truly divulge to her.
