Riva has natural nearly black hair, dramatically arched eyebrows, and auburn colored eyes which are very large and round. Her face is very round, nearly heart shaped with round lips, a tiny cleft in her chin, big cheeks and a perfect petite nose. She's attractive and medium height with artful curves. She wears mostly dark clothes and not because she's emotionally checked out and modernly emo, but because it compliments her light skin tones and dark attributes very well.

Riva keeps to herself. She's would rather read a book than hang out with friends. Most people think of her as a stone cold bitch, saying what she thinks without any regrets in a way that seems souless. With straight faces and one toned voices she dryly lets people know what she thinks with no reserve. She likes her peace and quiet and spending time alone and not because everyone is below her, but because she doesn't like to pretend she's someone she's not. Previously to Ashwood Academy she was forced into certain friendships and lights because of her rich well to do political parents. Riva has friends, however, that are drastically different from her. They bring out various different sides of her and are her true friends, because they stick together no matter what.

She has strengths inside of her which flourish when people try to push her in a direction she doesn't want to go in. She's very straight forward and intelligent and quick to figure things out. Never the one to give a confused look, she has a natural ability to understand. She won't let people think for her and she doesn't like to lie. he's a strong person, emotionally, and she can control her feelings. Despite what other people think of her she is very kind and even gentle. Riva treats her friends very good and sticks to them through thick and thin.

People think her a grouch because her voice and actions aren't animated. While she's very truthful, the truth can hurt and often does and she has a hard time separating the need to be truthful with what would hurt someones feelings. She doesn't understand that first impressions are lasting and has a hard time trying to change peoples views on herself. It can be frustrating trying to stay true to herself when the easy way out would just be to agree. Being pushed sets her off and it's hard to get her to calm down when she's very angry.

Riva came from a big city with political parents who had more money than they knew what to do with. They spent it on sending her away to school almost all of her life, ignoring her, and forcing her to be friends with the kind of people they respected. She dislikes money, tries to hide the fact she has money, and rebels against her parents by doing what she wants when she wants. This tread on their 'well to do' nature is what caused them to enroll her into Ashwood Academy a year ago and haven't visited her since.

What Riva doesn't know is that she's a new kind of old soul. Who had lived many, many, different lives throughout time and had found her soulmate. To be with him forever she was changed into a vampire, like him, and then eventually killed. Night Worlders were always under the impression that the reason made vampires were never reborn is because they had lost their souls. However, Riva has been reborn into her current form and her soul belongs to Linden Redfern, as it once had long ago.
