Her hair is a soft chestnut and falls down mostly straight over her shoulders with a little curve toward the ends. She looks young and fresh, strangely alive for a vampire and pretty with a small nose and a round face. Her features are a classic Hollywood beauty's but she never tries to play them up. Her body is curvy and she often wears clothing that plays them down a great deal. Khaki pants and blouses are her favorite things to wear. Meredith has a very motherly atmosphere and dresses the age she reflects more than she actually looks it.

A romantic by nature and an optimist of the world, Meredith may be over 800 years old but she always comes off to others as youthful and bright as the sun on a cloudless day. Meredith believes in helping people, particularly made vampires. Being one herself she doesn't see why they should be hunted down, and tends to adopt them as her own children. She's motherly in the sense that she'll fuss over things like what the kids are wearing, and really just wants them to have a homey atmosphere. She gives her heart into things and is perhaps a little childish in her beliefs on love. However most students tend to like her and her 'children' really do tend to look at her like their mother.

As a vampire of a considerable age, she's strong and smart, experienced in the world around her and by no means naive. She is not blind to the judgements of the world nor is she underly cautious of the consequences of one's actions. As a vampire she has stronger empathy than others, able to be attuned to the emotions of others more accurately and can even tell when someone is lying to her or not without using telepathy. A romantic and a lover of the whole 'happily ever after' ideas, she is encouraging of love no matter the boundaries and believes that love conquers all in the end.

Meredith often takes it upon herself to 'fix' people, even if they don't want to be fixed. She honestly believes she can help everyone and that they just need a good home and a loving family, and that will make everything better. Being a made vampire she can never have children of her own, so she's constantly trying to 'adopt' other made vampires and some of them just aren't interested. She breaks a lot of Night World rules, but doesn't think she'll ever get caught. For someone her age, she tends to walk blindly into relationships and never really learns from her mistakes relating to such.

Born in the times of King Richard I's rule, she was a Saxon who worked as a servant to a Norman noble. He was a vampire and innocently enough, saw Meredith as a daughter of sorts and decided to change her into a vampire once her parents died of a flu.
