Like most of the Redfern line, Linden is devastatingly handsome. Dark brown hair with full lips that most people tend to linger on, he's attractive and has a model sort of charm that attracts most people. He stands barely at six feet, but his body is slim, lithe and he probaly can't wear anything that would make him look bad. His eyes are a cool blue color, picking up only the trait of slight color transformation, they merely change the color of blue, rather than the multiple colors other family members have picked up. It's not hard to pick up his mood judging from the color of his eyes. He only looks like he's in his mid-twenties and has for nearly seven hundred years.

Losing his soulmate tortured Linden almost into madness. He's a hateful sort of man who wants others to share his misery, purposefully seeking out soulmated couples and forcing one to lose the other. At one point in his life he was almost nice, at least as nice as Redferns can be, and with his soulmate he was practically docile. However the years without her hardened him into something else, and those that have escaped him have usually turned out to be something similar to him in their view on the world. He walks around with a permanent hole in his heart, one that can never be filled. To many he appears to be just as charming as any of the others in his family.

With being a vampire comes various abilities which include quick healing, advanced senses and increased speed and strength. He is also able to strike people mentally, causing a psychic blow of sorts that can render them unconscious. His telepathy is rather strong, though he can turn it down or off completely when he wants to, though he rarely does. The noise of others thoughts tends to help him extract truths or find things he is searching for. He's charming, beguiling, and there are few who know his true nature. He slips occasionally, but most of the time he seems as dashing as they get.

Himself. He is his greatest weakness. Linden is uncontrolled, his anger sparked easily and all this soulmate talk has done nothing except put him into a foul mood constantly. When angry he makes rash decisions without thinking them through, he's a hot head and does't listen to anyone, just focusing on a goal and doing anything at any cost to achieve it. Being a vampire, obvious weaknesses against wood and fire are there, though being moderately old, he doesn't have to worry about any of the others.

Once upon a time Linden Redfern found his soulmate. She was a human girl, an old soul that he turned into a vampire so the two could be together forever. Making her a vampire had its risks of course, considering it was believed that if she died she'd never return. Fate is funny sometimes, and other times just downright cruel. An enemy, since Linden had many, had her killed and that part of his soul was destroyed. Gone. Some say he went mad, but Linden appeared as normal to many as he'd always been. Perhaps more menacing than before, less tolerant and hateful of all humans for their frailty, and even more so against people who's soulmates were found.

Through the years he'd happen about soulmates and find ways to tear them apart. Hateful that his own was gone, he'd force them into the same misery as himself. Such was the case with Petunia and Frederick, killing the girl's soulmate before her eyes and turning her into a vampire. Obsessed with the idea of killing her, she disappeared. The years without that part of his soul twisted him into something else. But word of Petunia arose and brought him to Ashwood.

Upon arriving he saw the face of his soulmate in a student and all it took was a touch to realize that the impossible happened. She'd been reborn. Maddened a bit by the years without her, Linden kidnapped Riva and is holding her off school grounds in an abandoned mansion.
