The following are questions I've been asked before and while they are not answered elsewhere on the site, they are answered here.
A. This is not answered in the books, therefore I took the liberty of making up an answer for the sake of the game. If you were born a shifter, the answer is "no." If you were recently turned into a shifter, the answer is "yes." This is why. Shifter blood has an immunity to vampire blood. Vampire blood eats human blood, but because the shifter blood is immune to it, the body will reject it, leading to making the shifter sick or even killing them. If someone was recently made into a shifter, the shifter blood has not fully settled in, therefore the vampire blood can take over. A vampire cannot become a shifter. Made vampires are full blown vampires, meaning no human blood is in their system at all anymore.
A. No. The answer will always be no. I sat down and specifically thought of these additions ot the game and it took me awhile to map everything out. Meaning that even if you credit me, I do not feel comfortable with the idea of my ideas being used elsewhere. I'm flattered, but the answer is still no.
A. Yes and no. Cousins? Yes. Siblings? No. We allowed this in the past because there was a good case argued that they could be either or if they happened to be the children of a witch and a human. However, after going back into the books themselves and looking deeper on the topic, we've come to the conclusion that direct siblings is not possible. All siblings in the books that had a witch discovered in their family were actually all witches and therefore no human siblings. Cousins and things like step-siblings is fine. Again, we allowed direct siblings before but have discussed this issue in detail and come to this conclusion.
A. Firstly, half-breeds are not common. Second, I don't feel comfortable allowing them in the game. As cool as the idea of a half-breed is, the fact remains, they are rare, extremely rare and only two were mentioned in the books as being such. Therefore, for the sake of keeping them rare, I'm not allowing them in the game.
There could be a number of answers to this question. One could be that you posted your character behaving completely out of character for no reason. Another could be that you tagged someone that was not open for tagging. Then there's the reason that you did not give enough in your post for it to be accepted by me.
Ashwood looks for various things in their students. Academic achievement, good family background, and money. Therefore, your character would have to have a formal education (gone to school or studied under private tutors with an excellent reputation) and prove themselves to pass the Ashwood entrance exams in order to overcome the first hurdle. The second hurdle is money. Lots of people have money, but this school is extremely expensive and you need to be in a family of considerable wealth to be accepted. Note, that students who live in Winthrop are automatically accepted to the school and are free of paying these heavy tuition fees or having to make donations. However, it is only students who live in Winthrop or on Graves Island. Family background is the final key. Your family needs to be one of general influence and proclaim. We're not saying you have to be this huge rockstar's kid or the child of a billionare, but having a family with social influence is part of it.
We don't 'turn down' people as much as we ask for changes to be made or things to be explained or clarified. We as mods look at the profiles in a way that we want it to fit and work as a well rounded character. We are willing to compromise and work with you and would not turn down your profile unless you were unwilling to work with us.
Then we suppose this would be the part where we turn your character down. We won't accept characters that we feel do not make sense or that don't fit right into an actual character. Usually this is found in information like the 'history' or even parts of personality. These are the chief places we look at with profiles. As far as elements of the Night World go, we are somewhat loose about that, however we do want to keep a level of realism in this game and if your character appears too unrealistic to us, we will ask for changes. If you can't make those changes, or you refuse to, then we guess you aren't going to join.
