ASHWOOD ACADEMY > ON-CAMPUS HOUSING

If you're a student of Ashwood Academy you live on campus (unless you're a vampire or supernatural race that is loaded...as in rich) and there is housing available for the faculty as well. The buildlings are generally the same except for some differences, so you may want to read up. Also, click the link below to see where on campus the dorms are located.

Dorm Rules

The following are the rules for the dorms that the students reside in. The staff is strict (it's made up of a lot of strong shifters so don't mess) and they make sure students abide by these rules.

Thornfield Hall

The first of the row of three buildings which make up the student dorms, Thornfield Hall is where the students who are vampires reside. If you're a vampire and a student at Ashwood, you live here. Thornfield Hall is a tall building with seven floors, and the exterior is made of thick stone and elaborate designs are crafted in by the masons who helped construct the building. Upon walking through the door you can see that appearances can be fooling, since the interior is filled with nice furnishings, mostly metal and plastics, very little wood. The family crest of Sir Angus Thornfield hangs behind glass along with several old trophies from school competitions. The first floor is mainly the lobby and there are rooms that break off which include a expansive common room which takes up most of the floor where students can hang out. Large black leather couches litter the room, kept neat and there is a large calendar on the wall which states upcoming dorm activities for those that are interested. The next six floors consist of the bed rooms, twenty on each floor and they have two students in each room. The dorm is co-ed like all the others and each floor is designated for a different gender. Second floor is boys, third girls, fourth boys, etc. Each room a small kitchen to the right and on the left is a shared bathroom which includes a tub/shower, toilet and sink. On each side of the room is a bed and a large desk with several outlets for students who have laptops or other electronics. The kitchen is stocked every week according to what the students order with their monthly food allowance if they choose not to eat in the cafeteria. The beds are singles and do not come with sheets, blankets or pillows, the students bring those.

Richmond Hall

The second of the row of three buildings which make up the student dorms, Richmond Hall is where the students who are shapeshifters reside. If you're a shapeshifter and a student at Ashwood, you live here. Richmond Hall is a tall building with seven floors, and the exterior is made of thick stone and elaborate designs are crafted in by the masons who helped construct the building. Through the front door the inside has eccentric furnishings which are mostly wood or plastic. The family crest of Sir Isaac Richmond hangs behind glass along with several old trophies from school competitions. The first floor is mainly the lobby and there are rooms that break off which include a expansive common room which takes up most of the floor where students can hang out. Soft flannel couches litter the room, kept neat and there is a large calendar on the wall which states upcoming dorm activities for those that are interested. The next six floors consist of the bed rooms, twenty on each floor and they have two students in each room. The dorm is co-ed like all the others and each floor is designated for a different gender. Waldgrave Hall

The third of the row of three buildings which make up the student dorms, Waldgrave Hall is where the students who are humans or witches reside. If you're a human or witch at Ashwood, you live here. Waldgrave Hall is a tall building with seven floors, and the exterior is made of thick stone and elaborate designs are crafted in by the masons who helped construct the building. Inside the entire building is furnished with wood and keeps a classic look about it. The family crest of Lord Otto Waldgrave hangs behind glass along with several old trophies from school competitions. The first floor is mainly the lobby and there are rooms that break off which include a expansive common room which takes up most of the floor where students can hang out. Baroque styled couches litter the room, kept neat and there is a large calendar on the wall which states upcoming dorm activities for those that are interested. The next six floors consist of the bed rooms, twenty on each floor and they have two students in each room. The dorm is co-ed like all the others and each floor is designated for a different gender. Landon Hall

Landon Hall sits directly behind the lecture buildlings and faces the student dorms at the bottom of the staircase. This is optional housing for teachers who do not wish to commute from Winthrop or do not have any nearby housing on Graves Island. The principal and members of administration live off campus. The building is obviously older than the student dorms because Landon Hall was at one point the main school building itself. The main lobby takes up the first floor and there are doors and roofed walkways that lead to the lecture halls which the teachers take. The building still stands beautiful with the age and it is only four stories high, ten rooms on each floor and the staff is kept small on purpose. Each teacher has their own individual room to reside in which include a kitchen and bathroom. The room is full furnished before hand and the teachers are only responsible for bringing their own toiletries and bedding materials. Each room does have it's own smaller room which provides as a private study for the teacher. Students at no time are allowed in the teacher dorms for security purposes.
